TXD Services, LP and TXD Trucking, LP to Locate in Morrilton

TXD Service, LP and TXD Trucking, LP announced they will begin construction of their Arkansas  drilling and supply operations at the North Industrial Park in Morrilton.  These operations will include up to 16 drilling rigs, an oilfield supply store and a nitrogen plant. The operation will employ 100 to 120 people locally by the end of 2006 with a projected annual payroll of $8 million.  During 2007 local employees as well as the number of drilling rigs will double.  Phase I will begin immediately and will include a 12-15,000 square foot building, on fifteen acres, as an operating base for 26 large oilfield transport trucks , 16 drilling rigs and 12 foam air units.  Phase II will begin soon after and will involve a 10,000 square foot oilfield supply facility located on a five acre tract.  Phase III is the operation of a nitrogen plant and associated well completion service center on ten acres of land.  Estimated capital investment for these operations is in excess of $83 million.

TXD purchased the 30 acre tract of land, with a two year option to purchase an additional 10 acres, from the Conway County Economic Development Corporation. According to John Gibson, “Our first contact with Dick Varnell, TXD Managing Partner, was a January 9, 2006 telephone call from Mr. Varnell.  It is most gratifying to know that  the January 9 telephone call led to the location in Conway County of a company with the background and experience of TXD’s ownership. ”

Conway County Economic Development Corporation’s Board of Directors invited the public to join them in welcoming TXD to our community at a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, July 13 at 11AM in the North Industrial Park.  TXD Managing Partners Dick Varnell, Joe Poe and Bill Lynton were be in town, along with Greg Pearce, Sr., TXD’s Operations Manager and Greg Pearce, Jr. and other staff members who will help manage the day-to-day Morrilton operations.

TXD has begun ground work on the oilfield yard with a grant from the Arkansas Department of Economic Development.  The oilfield yard and Nitrogen plant areas require additional infrastructure preparation in order to support the tremendous loads created by drilling rigs, drilling rig transport trucks and nitrogen transport trucks.  They also require a chain link fence around the perimeter for security purposes.
